Ronald Beddoes
The Very Rev Ronald Alfred Beddoes was an eminent Anglican Priest in the second half of the 20th century.
He was born on September 14, 1912, educated at St Chad's College and ordained in 1936.〔(Durham Diocesan Records: Ordination papers )〕 After a curacy at Dawden, County Durham he was Priest in charge of Grindon. He then held incumbencies at Greatham〔The Times, Thursday, Dec 02, 1943; pg. 7; Issue 49718; col B ''Ecclesiastical News''〕 and Easington〔Crockford's Clerical Directory 1987-88 Lambeth, Church House, 1987 ISBN 0-7151-8066-5〕 until his appointment as the fourth Provost of Derby Cathedral. He resigned in 1981 and was Priest in charge of Beeley and Edensor until 1997.〔(Church Times )〕
He died in autumn 2001, aged 88.〔(Telegraph obituary )〕
